when I pick my son up at nursery...

....he's always in the garden (because of the time I pick him up)...and always, ALWAYS, riding one of their cars or bikes. He's been going for 8 months or so, a couple of times a week. He's 2.5.

He loves scooting and biking, and we spend a lot of time with him doing that. He's sociable, articulate, and I've got no concerns about that side of stuff. He plays with other kids often.

But is it odd that he's never deviated from doing that during garden time? DH thinks he just loves it, and being outside at nursery is his one chance to do it...

Mine spent ages ages lining up his plastic dinosaurs. He still has a slight obsession with dinosaurs but does line them up any more. But he will always choose the game, puzzle, plate, bicycle helmet etc with the dinosaur on it. They do get fixated on some things. Some love dinosaurs and trains, others like cars and bikes! Nothing at all to worry about, very normal.

Doesn't line them up, sorry.

Sounds normal, whenever we are somewhere with ride on toys my dd will be straight to them and I have to prize them off her when its time to go.

Ds2 and ds4 were similar. Ds1 was never interested at well and ds3 was in between. Some kids just like ride on toys, its great for balance and coordination etc. All good learning fun :)

My DD spends all her garden time on the swing at nursery. Nothing else! At least she's happy!
