Ds wont stop throwing things, and i need help and advice!

My ds is 2.3m and his current stage is throwing all sorts everywhere.
If he holds something that hes not meant to have, then thats thrown.
But, he throws his toys at myself and dh, also my 8month dd.
How can we stop it, we've tried ignoring him, but its hard when its at our dd.

Take him firmly, say "No. We do not throw things." and sit him down somewhere boring. Then turn your back on him. Ignore him for 30s and then bring him back into whatever is going on with a cuddle. Some people use a naughty step for this, but I've always either just put the child in another part of the room, a few feet away from the toys, or just outside the door to the room - eg in the entrance hall.

my Ds is a thrower too. Could you try making a no throwing in the house rule? Make sure you have plenty of fun things for outside or at the park that he is allowed to throw and just tell him really clearly that these are the only things he is allowed to throw. He must not throw in the house. Children this age do need to be told really clearly what to do, rather than what not to do when you are reacting to something!

As ignoring hasn't worked I would suggest maybe time in his room every time he throws (I think give him one 'free' throw - don't whack him straight in his room, he will need to be reminded of the rules every times as kids his age are still acting very much on the impulse of the moment) just take whatever it was he threw away and give him two minutes in his room.

tbh if he gets cross and throws things around his room while in there, I would develop blindness and deafness to this - he does the consequence, end of story. Don't let it go on and on otherwise you could be battling all the time!
