Why is there a ball in here?

...says DD aged 3.5, while playing with his testicles.

WTF do I say to that?!! I have had conversations with DD about her genitalia, we have a colloquial language for it, and we have talked about the real names for the various bits that make it up, and the more general 'formal' word of 'genitalia'. No issues, easily discussed, she didn't ask me what her vagina was for particularly, will add info as she grows older and it is appropriate to do so. She is 6, convo started about the same age as DS is now.

So, why wasn't I expecting it from DS?! We have discussed his willie, or his penis. I haven't really gone into the whole 'this is a penis' but have mentioned the name. DD knows he has a penis and testicles, hasn't asked what the testicles are for, but that we call it his willy.

But, what do I tell him that 'ball' is for?! DH avoided a response and has busied himself, on purpose I am sure! (DS is now in bed anyway).

How have you had this conversation?

Can't you just tell him? Say that boys have lots of tiny seeds kept there in case they want babies when they are grown up, as making babies needs a seed, and that's where they're kept.

Then change the subject really fast onto something he loves!
