What should my 7 month old be doing?

DS2 turns 7 months next week. He is small for his age (just under 7 kg) and is a very wriggly, smiley baby. He feeds and sleeps well but has only rolled over a few times, shows no sign of crawling, pulling himself up or sitting up unaided. Looking back at photos of DS1, I've noticed that DS2 is doing a lot less and strangers are often surprised when I say what age he is because of his size. HV not concerned about size. I just wonder if there's anything I can do to encourage his gross motor skills. Thanks.

Give him a baby gym (dangly things just within his reach). Lie him on tummy and give him toys to play with. When he's older, loads of play dough, paints, pencils, crayons, duplo etc. I used to worry about my DD aged 21 now, as she didn't say as many words as early as some of my friends' children. She now speaks 4 languages, including German and Russian! She's studying that at Bristol Uni. So don't stress. Never compare your child to others. Read to them. xxxx

Thanks! He was pretty good in his gym today and he was wriggling about earlier and eating his toes! He's very strong and loves to grab glasses and hair now. DS1 provides plenty of entertainment too.
