Crawling

Hi
I am sure I'm not the first mum to post something like this but here go's.
My dd is 10 months and cannot crawl! She lays on her tummy, pushes her arms up to straight and then rolls over onto her back - right side only. She can then flip back onto her front but there is just no moving forward. She will only stand if I hold her up - and never straight, always with her bum sticking out. No steps while standing.
I am trying not to be concerned - but it's not working.
She also does this hand flapping/ rolling/ twisting thing - looks as if she is screwing in a lightbulb - it could be classified as a wave but she does it when stimulated.
Any experienced mums out there who can put a newbies mind to rest? Or illuminate with their experience?
Many thanks

In the baby group I go to there are lots of babies who can't crawl at 10mths. I don't think its anything to worry about. A few of the older ones now started to crawl at about 12mths.
All babies are different. If you are worried ask your health visitor I'm sure they'll put your mind at ease.

My DS1 didn't crawl until 13 mths and walked at 19 mths. DS2 never crawled....he bum shuffled from 12 mths and was 18 mths when he walked.

Now aged 7 and 5 their default setting is tearing about like loons.

At the time I worried about it for DS1 (think I posted on here too Grin), but was relaxed for DS2. Just enjoy that your baby stays where you put her for now, sure she will be fine...it's defo normal.

Before my DS started crawling at 10mo, he did a whole lot of rolling and then 'sit-ups'. It was only afterwards it made sense to me - he was limbering up and using muscles that he would later use for crawling. Do you think that's what your DD is doing now? Does she like being on her tummy? Mine hated it and I'm sure this was a lot of the reason why he took so long to get there. Even after he could crawl, he was much happy 'crabbing' along!
