Brushing babies teeth

DD's front 2 teeth have just broken through the gums. Do I need to start brushing them now or wait till there right through. Do I need to use tooth paste? She's 5 months old.

I just wiped them with a clean flannel. Didn't bother brushing until both of mine were on solids and even then the tiniest smudge of baby toothpaste. My youngest has ten teeth (18 months) so I brush morning and night.

Ds got his two bottom front teeth at five months as well. I try to 'clean' then with a baby tooth brush and a tiny smear of 'milk teeth' tooth paste once a day. Usually when he is in his bouncy chair in the bathroom watching me have a shower and then I brush my teeth. He is really interested in watching me brush mine so I then put the brush in his mouth, give them a cursory brush and then let him play with it/chew on it for a while.
