When did your dc stop playing happyland?

My dts are 5. Got lots of happyland and a small house. They haven't touched it in months but if i asked would say they wanted to keep it. In your experience is this about the right age to move on? They tend to do lego/ barbie/ role play more at the moment. I'm wondering if it's harsh to make happyland disappear...

Not harsh at all..I tend to put things which I think MIGHT come back into favour in the attic...then reappear them a while later....if there's no interest, then get rid....sell on ebay or local selling site on Facebook and use the money to buy new toys.

About 4-5y when she started to collect Sylvanian Families instead, She sold a whole load of it, on MN actually, to start her new collection.

IME children at school play with the Happyland toys from reception right through to well into y2 in the classrooms.

When my nieces and nephews are over all of them play with the happyland eldest is 13.

If its being ignored as pp said put it somewhere for a few months and see if its missed. If not get rid. Dd (2) goes through phases of ignoring the happyland - at the moment she is outside most of the day so a lot of the toys are being ignored.

Thanks all, will stick it in the loft for now. Didn't want to be too hasty, months after a soft toy cull they were wondering what had happened to mr duck Blush

It's already been said but my 11yrbold will happily play with her sisters little people in the pretence of playing with her 5 yr old sister.

I would put it away and then bring it out as a garden toy on a sunny day before selling.
