should i be worried that newborn ds can roll?

Doctor mentioned at newborn check that ds can roll onto his side and that I might want to create kind of a nest so that he couldn't roll. But it's 24 degrees in here and he really doesn't need a blanket never mind a nest!

I had a cough/cold/virus when he was born which he's caught and is struggling with breathing esp while breastfeeding. He's only 4 days old and I'm a nervous wreck.

Oh and prop up the crib or moses basket so it isn't flat, helps with breathing, we used yellow pages ;-) i did use a nest with cotton sheets didn't make ds too hot

Both mine could roll onto their sides at birth, and both slept that way for weeks. I got told off by a midwife on the PN ward for putting DS on his side, when I said he rolled she told me I had to keep rolling him back Hmm I just made sure the blankets weren't around his face so he didn't roll into them.

I second propping up the cot - I still do it when they're sniffly and mine are 5 and 1!

Congratulations, and try not to stress too much Smile

Thanks, his breathing isn't to bad at the minute but his cough isn't great and abit of flem came up earlier. Think I'll take him to see gp today.

DS was like that too, he's 17m and still can't sleep on his back.

I think it's clevamama who do a nest thing to stop them rolling, you could roll up blankets on either side to stop him rolling

Thanks everyone, I'll try tucking blanket under his bum a bit. Were not needing any blankets at the minute though as its just too hot! X
