Hypochondria in toddlers??

My 3 year old niece is having a stage this last week where either everything hurts or she feels ill - even though she is absolutely fine. She could be sitting on the sofa and her hand hurts or be going up the stairs and her knee will hurt.

Is there any reason why she would be doing this? Or could it be growing pains?

Both mum and I are confused!

It's called attention seeking or winding mummy and auntie round my little finger! If you have her checked over and she still keeps doing it, just distract her or ignore it.

I normally find with mine saying "well, you're obviously too poorly to[insert nice thing here - e.g. go to park, paint nails, etc.] - seems to magically cure my 3 year old.
