I've posted about this before in the potty training section, but I think that maybe this section might be more appropriate...

I just wanted to share this in case it is helpful to anybody else.

About 6 weeks ago I took our DD to the GP as she was still bedwetting most nights and we had tried everything we could think of to help her, I was literally at my wits end.

The GP sugessted we try stretch her bladder by giving her loads to drink every day, up until about teatime.

Within about 2 weeks of trying this, DD was dry at night! She had one accident, about 3 weeks ago but other than that, nothing!

I know there are loads of reasons kids wet the bed and this method might not work for everyone, but I really wanted to share it in case it helps anybody else. I certainly wish I hadheard about it years ago!

I'm glad it worked for you. My son's nurse has been great and encouraged a minimum amount of water through the day.
How did you manage to encourage your daughter to drink more over the 2 weeks?

We had to get DS referred to the continence clinic, I was advised to get him to drink a small beaker (about 200ml) 5-6 times a day, rather than sipping or not from a water bottle at school. I sent a beaker into school and DS had one before school, one at break/lunchtime/afterschool club/ when he got home.

Apparently it is better to get them to drink a cup of water, fill their bladder and make the sphincter work harder.

Oh, and no drinks or an hour and a half before bedtime so it has percolated through their system by bedtime!
