Am I pushing her too early?

My DD is 2.6 years and on Friday I started potty training with her. She goes if placed on potty/loo but never tells me she needs to go until she has gone. It's only been 3 days but I'm concerned I've pushed her to early. We have reward stickers and lots of praise.

Put her favourite doll/teddy/cuddly toy on the potty and (without her seeing) pour some water in the potty and praise the doll/teddy/cuddly toy for having a wee and TELLING you first. A chocolate biscuit mushed up can make a convincing poo!

Praise teddy /doll/cuddly toy and ignore DD whilst heaping praise on toy.

The things parents do! Hmm but it worked for my DD at 2.3 months.

One day the dog drank the water and ate the biscuit. Boy, that was a story she told Dad that night.........................sigh. I didn't know a toddler could mime those actions never mind act them out!

The average age for being ready for girls is 2.9 and for boy's 3.0 - i guess some will be sooner and some later than average :-)

My DD is 2.7. For weeks she would happily wee and the potty if you reminded her to go butter would never ask to go. So if we didn't say hourly "do you need a wee" there were accidents.

we were using pull ups and i got irritated at nursery cos they kept asking for more and she kept coming home wet (ie they weren't bothering to ask if she needed to go). So i sent her one day in knickers & she had 5 accidents but that was what it took for her to associate and put everything together. Since that day (about 5 weeks ago) she says "i need a wee" takes herself to potty and goes, accompanied sometimes when sje's left it a by late with a panicked "i don't want an accident!".

I don't know if that is any help
