Wiping his bum

DS (6) has sensory issues and hates messy hands or the thought of messy hands. He refuses to even have a go at wiping his bum. How can I encourage him to start doing this for himself? BTW, he never poos at school.

Could u try the wet wipes maybe?

if you show him how to fold the tissues, and explain he hopefully should never get messy hands, will that help. Its the opposite in our home, I am a germaphobe, so I showed him how to get the tissue a certain length, double it up and hide his fingers so he doesn't get them dirty.

It wouldn't work with wet wipes because he doesn't like getting his hand wet/moist. I'll try your method grandma and see if that works. Surely, there are lots of children like him?

I have just bought my DS (also 6 and terrified of getting mess on his hands) some funky printed toilet paper. It's a bit expensive, but I've said to him that it's for him to use and only him, no-one else, and that he had to have 2 goes at wiping his bottom with the new paper, then I'll finish off for him.
He seemed really quite keen on the idea.
