Feeding lots after a poo?!

Hi, my LO (9 1/2 weeks) poo's every other day (he is on formula). The day he poo's or day after it he has one at night he seem's to feed every 1 1/2- 2 1/2 hours taking 5 or 6 ozs a time meaning 8-9 bottles. Is this normal? He is on his 50th centile and HV doesn't seem concerned but how long will this go on for as her seems to constantly let me know he is hungry and is only pacified with a bottle or dummy! On the day he hasn't had a poo he only has 6-7 bottles! Anyone else have a baby that does this/has done this?
Thanks
Tessie

I think my dd does this too. She normally poops mid morning and won't eat much until she's been. I think she's making space!! :)

DD was ebf & only pooed once every 7 or 8 days. The day before she did one, her appetite dropped off and for the 24 hours after she did one (and they were always massive up the back type affairs) she'd feed non-stop. Like Alexa, we used to joke she was making space.
