Sorry if this seems a silly question but my Daughter only has 6 teeth and still has trouble eating harder foods, is this normal for her age? x

My 17 mth old has 5 teeth completely through and 2 just coming through. I'm not worried, someone told me it runs in family's, and my partner was very late with his teeth as a baby. But who knows. It's definitely within the normal range, so don't worry.

Yes my dd has 8 teeth she's 17.5 months. Her brother had much more at this age so a bit random. She struggles with chewy foods but is ok if in small enough pieces.

Oh good I was a little worried she was very behind, thanks :)

My DD is 18 months and she has four more molars left to grow. She didn't have any teeth until she was nine months old, but they came all so quickly.

My 3 DSs had no teeth until after 1 so still only a few by 18 months.

They caught up, but the older 2 have also been late to lose their milk teeth. DH and I were both the same, apparently.

My 20 month old has 12 teeth.
But I don't understand how your teeth not coming in yet could be considered 'behind'? It's not some developmental milestone. They're just teeth.
DD could still eat loads of things when she only had one tooth, though I agree having more may make it easier to chew.

None.

Not one.

And she's 19m old.

However, the only foods she can't really eat are raw carrots sticks. She manages just about everything else.

Developmentally speaking, its not an issue.

Thanks everyone, I just wasn't sure and thought they all seemed to be coming in a funny order, dentist assured me her teeth are all fine :)
