Why do they turn into little demons when they get to about 18 mths?

Ds managed to head butt my ear yesterday, he did it so hard the back of my earring stuck into my head, I had to pull it out!!

He's taken to kicking and struggling through nappy changes, getting dressed. Whacking me when things aren't going way. For a little boy, he can slap really hard!

same ds here,he headbutted dd on friday and gave her huge nose bleed.

DD1 would NOT stop kicking her bathwater out tonight.

Drove me spare, b/c she'd been so sweet just seconds before dissolving into a little demon.

She also tried to bite DH when he refused to give her another fairy cake I'd made.

I've not had any biting yet thank goodness.

It's so annoying, he looks like a little angel with all his curly hair and is acting like a little thug. I can't stay cross at him though, he gives me this sly look out of the corner of his eye and I just want to laugh. My friend has taken to putting him on the step everytime he abuses me, he sits there looking really sulky.

My dd is always hitting me in the face, not hard, but she thinks its funny! Even when I try to use my authorative tone.

Still she doesn't bit too much. When I collected her from nursery I was informed that she was bitten and the other child had 'time out...'

I felt sorry for his/her parents when they came to collect!

My dd2 went through a biting phase, just after I left exp. It was awful, she was having a go at everyone, left some terrible bruises. Thankfully it has all passed now.

she takes a strop if she's left w/o somethign she wants for 5 seconds.

well, tough, ain't it? i've been waiting 35 years for £1m and like that made any damn difference!

Dd1 and I were discussing whether we would ever live in a big house, like the ones we drive past every day. I said I would have to win the lottery or marry a rich man. She then went through all the men she could think of, which consisted off my brothers, exp and his brother and my friend's husbands. When I told her that none of them were suitable, she said I better go and buy that lottery ticket then!

Umm.. dd isn't getting much better at 2.9. She's not physical, just doesn't want to do anything you want her to. Will just put her head on the floor. New favourite saying is 'not yet'. Counting to three and threats of taking away dinner/bear/story etc seem to work sometimes though..

Aw this makes me feel great! (Sorry) Ds is 17months and lays flat on the ground and kicks his feet screaming... thank goodness it isn't only me!! DD would never have done this at his age!!

rickman - that sound exactly like my 19 mths old DD as she got the terrible twos atm!! as she had kicked me in the eye, slapped me so hard on my face that i ended up a headache, she is so independant!! but so loveable!!
