How can i get him to call me mum?

He has been doing this for about 2 months now and i always correct him or ignore but doesnt seem to be getting better.

The other words he can say is nan, rhys, lisa and thank you!

Any advice ?

Yeah, they do that. He'll get over it eventually.

My husband and I called each other Mummy and Daddy for awhile after our son started calling us by our first names. He stopped hearing the names and now never calls us by them.

Its just me and my DS and iv asked my family to call me mum but they seem to forget, im just worried that calling me mum will become second nature to him and he will find it hard

One of mine went through a phase like this. Just keep referring to yourself as mummy - 'Bring mummy your shoes', that kind of thing, and he'll grow out of it soon enough. I remember being quite upset about it, ds1 was around 2 at the time, ds2 was a baby. I was run ragged and to add insult to injury no-one called me mummy! It really was a short-lived phase though.

Well, then refer to yourself in the third person.

And don't worry, he knows who you are, no matter what he calls you.

Ds1 went through this, and at 5yo now, he still calls me by my given name sometimes.
Tbh, it doesn't really bother me. Sometimes when he calls me 'Silvery' I ask him what my name is and he laughs and says "mummy"
It drives dp crazy when the ds's call him by hisreal name.

My ds will occasionally do this too. He usually calls me mama but when he hears h calling me by my name he will mimic it. Tbh we have great fun and just make up silly names for each other to hear ds calling us that! Don't take it to heart, he knows you're his mum!

DD (2) does this. She doesn't do it to her Papa, just me. No idea why! It's wearing off a bit now.
