Unable to get from lying to sitting or sitting to standing at 11 months

I'm not exactly worried.... oh go on then, I am! DS is commando crawling and rolling around. He'll be 11 months next week and he can't get from lying to sitting or vice versa - it's not that he doesn't want to, he just doesn't seem able to. Even if I put something a bit further away that he really wants, he kind of twitches his legs around and then cries. I've tried just leaving him and hoping frustration will get him to move, but it really isn't working and I can't leave him for that long because it just seems so mean. He bears weight brilliantly & has done for months - is desperate to stand and walk. Though not desperate enough to be able to pull himself up to standing. Anybody else had this?

My DS was the same, we didn't think he would move at all, he seemed happy enough just sitting and playing then at 10 months he started crawling - no warnings just off! Exactly the same thing happened with walking at 12 months - one day nothing the next day up and walking. It was as though he knew exactly what to do and done it when he was ready.

You now can't keep him still - I was forced to share a bed with him the other night (staying at friends) and he never kept still in his sleep either.

Ds could roll onto his tummy and that was it for his range of physical abilities until about 11 months. He could then stand around the furniture and even walk around the furniture he just couldnt get to the furniture on his own, he couldnt sit up unless we put him a sitting position and once in a sitting position couldnt lie down unless he toppled. He was 13 months when he finally crawled and after what Im sure could be some sort of record he walked after 6 and 1/2 months of cruising around furniture. It is the sequence of milestones rather than the timing of them was the advice my hv gave me and that helped me to relax a bit about the whole deal.
