Has anyone noticed the four oclock rule?

I have long thought that if dd sleeps even a tiny bit past 4 she wakes in the night.
I've asked around and it seems true.
She wil settle ok but just wake up around 3 am.

Yesterday she nodded off in the car for about ten mins at about four fifteen.
We were them woken at 3 am for several renditions of Taylor Swifts "trouble" followed by happy birthday.
This went on untill 5 when she booted me on the tit so I went down on the sofa and left dh to it.
Anyone else agree.

It seems pretty obvious but the thing id expect is not going to bed not waking at three for a good sing song and some violence.

Not really related but I have worked in several nursing homes and residents get very irritable at the same time every afternoon.
Maybe there is a primeval reason!?

I used to do nights in a nursing home and have a theory the elderly wake at night due to hunger. I used to take round a bit of supper for them and have a very quiet night

this is the time my dd (3.6) insists on trying to fall asleep, if I leave her alone to do something in another room she will fall asleep! she gets really naggy and says she wants to sleep, if she s already started napping and I wake she is whingy and whiney and I can't get anything done! god help if I need a poo...(I've been known to hold it in to avoid her falling asleep on me!)

Ah, DD used to stay up until 1am or so if she slept for a MOMENT after 4pm.

This happened with my son and i pushed back his bedtime from 7 to 7.30 and it worked pretty well. Although he knows that he goes to bed at 7.30 and doesn't get out of bed until 7 in the morning because i have had this in place since he was born so i guess he has just learned it from birth. I also don't let him in my bed (unless he's ill) and tbh he doesn't like sleeping in my bed because hes so used to having his own personal space. sorry this probably wasn't much help .

I'd love to go to sleep at 4. Bit of a nap and come up smiling at 7pm- bliss!
Tired hungry children at 4pm, I think it's the worst hour of the day.

Well she reached new lows last night and woke every few hours cos couldn't breathe. No after four sleep Just lots of snot.
