Feeding to sleep and teething

9mo DD has always fed to sleep (BF) and I haven't made any moves to change this yet but it is something I will start to deal with after we get back from holiday in a few weeks. Just last week her first two teeth started coming through. I want to start cleaning them but obviously cleaning them before sleep doesn't quite fit into our current routine. Can anyone tell me if BFing her then putting her to bed having cleaned before boob is likely to damage her teeth in the short term? Do I need to start weaning her off feeding to sleep now?

I believe the advice is breast milk is pretty tooth friendly and not to worry.

Ok thank you - I had read that there are issues if you allow babies to fall asleep latched on and stay there but wasn't sure how far that stretched!

Don't let your DD stay latched on as she dozes off learn the right second to slip a finger in an break the seal.

Not to save her teeth, but to say you PAIN.

The one time DD2 really bit was to try and hang on as she felt her head go back as she dozed off. Sharp baby teeth draw blood.

She's fine with being unlatched but definitely things need to change now teeth are coming into play! Thanks Startail
