Ds has changed get up time, does this mean he's ready to give up nap?

My ds 2.10 reached a point where he was regularly getting up between 6.30 and 7.00. Over past 2 weeks this has moved to an hour earlier!! Does this mean he's ready to drop his days, most days he sleeps for about an hour and a half!

He is not napping for any longer after waking earlier and bedtime is just the same, but he is the grumpiest little tike going!!!!!!

Any advice gratefully received!

What time is his midday nap? I would try moving it earlier, if you can, before dropping it altogether. Quite often they simply get used to going without the nap during the day (once they've realised it's ditchable!) and carry on waking up at 5.30, which is the worst of all worlds!

He's old enough for a Gro-Clock and to learn to stay in bed until his clock's awake as well (rewards for doing so are fine!).

Thanks ZuleikaD, I had wondered about trying a gro clock. His nap is somewhen between half 12 and half 1. He does try not to have it at weekends so sometimes we have to resort to a car journey! Part of me feels he's not ready to drop it as he's so grumpy so clearly needs the sleep but the clock saying 5 anything in the morning is really undesirable. Think the gro click is def worth a go.

Try waking him after 45 minutes from his nap, and definitely try a clock. What time is bedtime?

Majabiene, he goes up to bed at 7.30 for teeth and story, then straight to sleep.
