DS is 9 months. Since 5-6 months he was babbling a lot- dada, mumumum, Rararara, Bababa etc
Recently, the last 2/3 weeks this has stopped. He has just learnt to crawl and clap though.
Should I be concerned? Hoping his "talking" returns soon.
We are waiting to see paeds as at his 8 month check his head circumference had jumped a centile to 98th. I've read this can be linked with autism and am fretting

Hello, please don't fret. When learning a new skill ie crawling and clapping, many babies will put aside old skills for a while. Just keep an eye on him.

Yes, he's just concentrating on something new - they can't work on 'walking' (or gross motor skills in general) and 'talking' (or communication skills in general) at the same time at this age.

Thank you both.
He has "talked" a bit more today. Wonder weeks had him in a leap so maybe that was why. Glad my chatty littles is back :)
