Help?

Hey, i'm a young mum (17) I've got a little boy who is 4 months on the 30th.
Easy pregnancy, easy labour- no complication, was 40+1 when born weighing 7lb 8oz.
Basically the last few days hes had a fluctuating temp high then normal but today its been jumping 35 to 38, i think hes teething, but hes screaming when hes not sleeping and not into his feeds. He's doing wet nappies but is so irritable its unreal. The only health complications hes hard are constipation which has been sorted. He pooed 2 days ago so i know hes not constipated at present; If hes not better by tomorrow or this evening i'm taking him to his GP. Any ideas mummys?

He could be teething, but if he has a high temperature, eating less than half of his feeds and is unusually irritable these are good reasons to take him to a GP and just get him checked over. I'm sure he's fine but you'll feel reassured and rule anything out if you take him :-)

It's been a long time since mine were that tiny but if I recall correctly they were still pooing far more regularly at 4 months old. - Have you spoken to the Health Visitor about this? - That would be my first move - then to the docs if you're not happy with the answers.

Is he breastfed? Because if they're breastfed they can go up to a week without pooing-or poo 10 times a day without problems. One of mine was every 7-8 days and that was considered normal (if messy).

I think I'd take him to the doctor to check at that age. My ds started ear infections younger than that and the symptoms were temperature and general miserableness. 35 degrees is low though, is that his normal temperature?

The doctor won't mind checking a baby because either it'll be quick or they really need to be seen.

The doctors wanna see him tomorrow. He's been referred to the surgeons about his bowels, but yes, he was breatsfed for 11 weeks, but his poo was solid. His normal temp is 36.3, today has been the same if not worse, hes throwing up everything he takes, if hes still bad at 9pm i'm calling the emergency doctors, i'm probably over re-acting but its my first baby so i don't want anything to happen to him! Thank you!
