First shoes?

DS is just starting to walk using furniture to move around. Obviously I've no intention of putting him in shoes indoors, no need for that, but outside he obviously needs shoes. Problem is the pre walker shoes are getting a bit small for him.

Do I look at getting him first proper shoes? Or are there stretchier variations of the baby shoes I can put him in?

My DS is in Clarks cruiser shoes - lots of people on here don't rate them but i think they're fine - he has time in the day without shoes but i like them on when he's at nursery / we're out and about. We got him measured and fitted at a Clarks in retail park - £14 compared to spend£26 in the normal shops

Another vote for Clarks cruisers. Nice flexible soles, good quality and lovely for baby's first pair. DS had dinosaurs on the side of his and went 'raaar' whenever he had them on!

Cruising shoes will be ample for now - if he's only just started cruising then it'll be a little while before he needs shoes for walking outside independently.

I presume he isn't walking outside though? If he's still cruising? So all you need is something to keep his socks on, and an added layer of warmth for when he's sitting in the pram.

or google leather baby shoes. He doesn't need expensive cruisers with a thick sole if he's not walking outside.

Leather padders all the way- they go up to adult sizes so definitely in your DS's size unless he has very unusually large feet for a baby! Delay the first hard soled shoes as long as possible- they really only need them for protection and warmth.

This type of thing I mean.

I got my DS a pair of slippers from Clarks when he started cruising. They come in different widths so fit really nicely, have a nice flexible sole and look really comfy. He wears them a lot now he's started toddling. I suppose though he'll be due some proper shoes fairly soon.

And thats a SHOE SELLER saying don't buy shoes for them yet! Definitely the leather soft soles are the best thing.
