Ds is now 18mo. Today dh asked "what are we going to call ds's penis?". I replied "Bert" but apparently this wasn't helpful Grin

Suggestions and ideas please so I can present a list of options to dh. Thankyouverymuch.

Have this to come now!!
Think i'l just go with willy but pmsl at Bert!!!Grin

Another vote for willy, with penis in hand (so to speak :o) for when he is older and can distinguish between the appropriate times to use these words. I don't think I can cope with him shouting "My daddy's got a PENIS!" in the street just yet.

threebob · 06/05/2006 21:09

It's a penis - why would willy be less embarrassing shouted out.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 06/05/2006 21:13

Winkle :)

Lact8 · 06/05/2006 21:18

Widgies here. ds2 very interested in what's in everyones pants at the moment. In the morning when I'm trying to put my knickers on he chases me around the bedroom trying to grab my pubes! The only thing missing is the Benny Hill theme tune Smile

TwoIfBySea · 06/05/2006 21:22

peepee, sometimes peepee machine

widdler

Of course there are tons of names for the penis but what do you do when your ds (in my case dts2) pulls it aside and asks what his testicles are? What name for them? Because dts2 now thinks he has tentacles and refuses to be corrected.

I am sure the majority of us would be more embarrassed at our Son (if I had one!!!) shouting out Daddy has a penis !!!

(Would also be embarrassed if they shouted Dad has a Willy out loud Grin)

But for some reason , and I know this was talked about the other week, we are embarrassed using the proper names

Maybe it is a bit silly but that is the way it is and the majority of us have other names for Penis, vagina etc etc

Surely even as adults we do.......

Be honest...if your Husband/partner hurt his 'penis'

would he say "Oh I don't half have a sore penis" ?? or would he say "Oh I have a sore ????" (whatever he may call it!!)

Maybe it is a British thing?!!! Maybe in other countries they all refer to the proper names, but most of us don't!!!

serenity · 06/05/2006 21:38

We have willies (well not me obviously) I find 'penis' too grown up. Men have penises, boys have willies Grin

As to the testicle side of things, DS1 quite independantly started calling them 'nuts'. I think he must have heard it in school. DS2 copied him, and although it isn't a term I would have chosen, that's now what they are called.

spidermama · 06/05/2006 21:41

The answer is in the question I feel.

colditz · 06/05/2006 21:42

winky

FrannyandZooey · 06/05/2006 21:57

Threebob, I am not saying this is how it should be, but IMO that is how it is. The word willy is regarded as inoffensive, funny and cute. The word penis is not.

Harpsichordcarrier · 06/05/2006 21:59

I think the word "willy" is vile personally
I hate using it.
so I don't Grin

Greensleeves · 06/05/2006 21:59

prolly [wince] because you haven't got a boy GrinGrin

fattiemumma · 06/05/2006 22:00

im still unsure as to what to call my daughters nether regions. the word i use is realy unsuitable for a child

Steppy1 · 06/05/2006 22:01

...willy wonky or winky wonky (DS) ....DD has a "foo foo" but they are only 5 and 3 so probably change as they get older......

Harpsichordcarrier · 06/05/2006 22:02

oh go on fattiemama tell us Grin
lordy franny we do see the occasional penis though
iirc you did need a word for a foofoo notwithstanding that fact you don;t have a daughter ... Grin

HunKeRMunKeR · 06/05/2006 22:02

chesney

FrannyandZooey · 06/05/2006 22:04

Erm you are castigating me instead of Greeny. She said it, Miss.

Greensleeves · 06/05/2006 22:06

Sneak Grin

FrannyandZooey · 06/05/2006 22:07

Don't you cause trouble and blame it on me Shock

You've been a shocker this weekend young Greenster

:o

Greensleeves · 06/05/2006 22:08

If you're referring to that scuffle on the child-beating thread, I was entirely blameless. I was provoked.

We really do need a tongue-poking-out emoticon Grin

FrannyandZooey · 06/05/2006 22:11

It was classic Greenery and no mistake. You have been gagging for a ruck all week and she just sauntered into your path now knowing what was about to hit her. I could hardly bear to look.

:o

Greensleeves · 06/05/2006 22:12

Yes that's quite accurate Grin

She was a class A nutter though.

Greensleeves · 06/05/2006 22:13

"Greenery"ShockGrin

FrannyandZooey · 06/05/2006 22:13

See this thread has turned into an homage to you and you are calling me mean. Harrumph.
