should i give tge nursery a call?

My DD is 4 and at a school nursery.she normally loves it but came out really quiet today and didn't talk all the way home.
When we did get back I asked her if everything was ok and she started to cry.
After calming her down she told me one of the children and hit her in the back with a block and then drew on her. Two other children apparently chased her round trying to throw blocks at her until a teacher noticed.
I know kids will be kids and all that but do you think o should maybe just give the nursery a call just to discuss it?
DD has a red mark on her back and pen all over the back of her jumper , she's just so upset I wasn't sure if I should mention it?

I would phone them up yes. Just quite matter of fact, want to find out the facts. I'm surprised they didn't make you aware themselves, as a teacher saw?

Yes, you should have had an accident report or something - I would definitely ring them.

Yes she ran into the office where the main nursery nurse was as all the other staff obviously weren't watching. DD said that the children where spoken to but I'm left wondering what exactly has happened and why no one mentioned it to me.
She's quite a sensitive little thing but she does seem really upset.

Definitely ring them up then.
Try not to get emotional about it (hard I know, as I would be fuming!), ask what happened, how it was dealt with and what procedures are in place to stop it happening again. Also ask why you didn't get an accident report.

Thank you, wasn't sure if I was being over the top calling as I know at this age they have their moments but I do feel that this was something I should have been informed about.

Thanks for advice, gave the nursery a call and had a meeting with them thismorning just to discuss. Really glad I did, we went over a few other issues iv been worried about and I feel much better (although I did cry when I got home but I'm blaming the pregnancy hormones)
