My DD is 4 months day. She still only seems to be able to do 90 mins awake time without become grizzly and difficult, very occasionally she will stay up for 2 hours but it is rare. She is a bit of a 45 minute napper, although randomly will take longer naps here and there, or can be shush/patted back to sleep if she's still really tired.

My question is really, is this normal at her age? Should she be able to stay awake a bit longer or will this extend naturally? She seems such a tired baby - she sleeps 12 hours straight at night without waking, and seems tired most of the day.

Perfectly normal - both mine were doing 90 minutes up, 45 minutes down at 4 months. It will extend naturally - in a month or so you'll probably find that it's come down to three regularish naps - one a couple of hours after she wakes, another longer one after lunch and one more early evening a couple of hours before bed. Then the early-evening one goes at roughly 7-9 months, the morning one average at 15 months, and you hang on to the after-lunch one for as long as possible...
