Malrotation: Medical Negligence

My son's malrotation condition was missed, they discovered it when he was 11mths old. He is now 1 year 1 mth.

He had to have a major heart operation in November but leading up to that he was sick after every feed and didn't put any weight on. All the docs etc kept saying he'll be better after the heart operation. He wasn't.

He's also got a C shape spine and a bone condition which we are still waiting to find out what it is. This has been going on since December.

Yes I am angry. Whenever I ask why was it missed they pass the buck!!!

I am writing a letter to try and find out why it was missed. He is unable to sit up on his own, etc. has physio every week, waiting for Occupational Therapist to meet us. He needs special equipment.

Does anyone know who to contact for help regarding medical negligence?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated?

Thank you : )

You really need to speak to a solicitor :)

Don't just go with a 'no win, no fee' type, you need a company with med neg specialists. If they think you have a case they should have medically trained staff in-house who will trawl through the medical notes and see where omissions may have been made.

It's a very long and very intrusive process so although I don't want to put you off pursuing a claim you really need to be prepared for a traumatic and lengthy fight.

Good luck!
