Playtime for a 7 month old

Can you give me some ideas of what games you play with your 7 month old.

I find all the games/tasks I know seem to be over really quick and are sometimes really boring.

Don't think I played any games with my 7 month old, maybe rolled a ball at him, put some teddies in front of him. Picture books? Or try those books with textures etc. Agree it can be very boring. What exactly are you thinking of, can't exactly play a game of bridge with them can you .

Love to know what 'tasks' a 7 month old can do as well.

Something both our DCs love(d) is for us to drape a muslin over their faces, and then to whisk it off while saying "where's (s)he gone? There (s)he is!" It gets to the stage where they can pull it off themselves, which they seem to like. Lots of giggles anyway. It's really just a variant of peekaboo. And yes, it's not an activity you can keep up for long!

Go out, to library or playgroups/friends. Do your own thing around the home and let her watch. Give her stuff to play with eg random bits from the kitchen (clean, dry clothes, plastic utensils etc). I found I'd die of boredom entertaining my two so carried on with my day and dragged them along too.

Didn't really play games (other than the odd bout of peekaboo) with either of them, other than chatting to them, having them around generally. They were happy to watch/ have a spoon and pan or whatever to play with with.

I sing nursery rhymes, clap, peekaboo, let him play with my face/mouth etc. Or I put him on his mat surrounded by toys and lie next to him and every once in a while hand him something else while I sort of close my eyes for a few moments and imagine drifting off into a deep deep sleep...
