When does a baby drop their late afternoon nap?

My DS is just over 6 mo. He normally naps for 40 mins in the morning, 1.5 hours around lunchtime then 30 mins around 4pm. He's been resisting going to sleep for the last nap this week. When do babies normally drop to 2 naps a day? Thanks!

My ds finally dropped to 2 naps at 8.5 months old. It makes planning afternoons much easier.

It varies, if it's getting tricky to get him to sleep probably means it's rime to drop it. My DD went from 4 to 2 at about 5 months. Had about a week where I spent hours trying to get her to sleep only or her to wake after 10 mins.
