2 year check up

Hi, we should be getting the letter soon for DD. I'm just wondering - do they still do height and weight or is it purely things like speech and movement?

I wouldn't bother but DD's height is the only thing I'd possibly have concerns over. I'm sure she's fine but she is a little thing. Otherwise she's perfect.

Thanks mother. I haven't been worried, but then I do get these little moments when I see a 14mo towering over her on the climbing frame and I think, hmmm, I wouldn't mind just making sure she's on track.

Obviously, she will be a shortarse like her mum, but not too short I hope!

My dd is a shortie too. Like me. :)

I still take issue with the HV who measured her and without even straightening her legs (which were in the air) declared dd to be 75%ile for weight and 2nd for height! She was a chubby baby but still

DS had his recently and they did check height and weight as well as talking about other things.

Fwiw my DS is a bit of a shortie too and the HV wasn't worried! He's 50th centile weight and something like 9th for height. He looks too cute alongside others his own age and seems to get away with murder in comparison because people think he's younger than he is! So there are definite advantages

Our two year check was a joke

Ds is short, 4 percentile since birth, but the hv under measured him by 8am (!!!) at the review so told me that he'd fallen below all curves. I was so upset. DH came home from work upset too but re measured him and we realised her mistake. She came back and re measured and apologised.

Also she referred him for hearing tests due to his speech, or lack of. More worry, only to be told he's a typical boy.

My friend turned her two year check down and I wished I had done the same.
