Anyone have any advice on secondary school entry

My DS has not got his choice of secondary school which we all preferred, he has got the local catchment school. Although it is not a bad school, he has been bullied by children he knows who are already there and also by those going up with him in September so he is terrified of going. I am struggling whether to go through appeals to get him into the other school and risk him still not enjoying it or just try to sort out the current situation and help him through it with the school he has got, after all they can get bullied anywhere. Such a dilemma, any advice?

Well its still early days yet - you still may get the school you want.

I assume you are going to go on the waiting list for preferred choice - in that case you will not have an idea of the situation for another two weeks . They need to gather all the acceptances/declines and then they can sort out waiting list.

See where you are in two weeks firstly.

Appeal - you only have one shot at at so I see no reason why not but it has got to be a good case - I've seen lots of god advice on appeals on MN.
