Potty training my 2year old

Hi im new on here so bear with me...
My DS is 2 this month and up until 2weeks ago was happily sitting on his potty regularly and would even let me know when he needed a poo. In the last 2weeks or so he cries if I even mention the potty. When I change his bum he almost to the point of begging asks me to put his nappy back on and has stopped telling me/ denies when he needs the loo. Feel like we have gone backwards don't want to make him do something that upsets him. My mum says he happily uses the potty at her house. Confusing!
Any advice / comments appreciated

Where is he weeing? I would say that's the thing to focus on first and the poos will follow (as it were).

I would let him go back to nappies if that's what he wants - it does no good to push potty training. It may just be a blip and in a couple of weeks he'll be quite happy with it again.

He was weeing in his potty now only his nappy. Will prob try and rest it for now and then try again maybe do him a chart with gold stars on or something to encourage him

I do think when they're ready they'll just do it. My DD self trained at 2 but my DS (who is older than her) wasn't ready til he was closer to 3. He did a lot of pissing on the floors and I begged him to use the loo. He would say in a sweet little voice "sorry for pissing on the floor mummy"
