Dd is getting upset at not being "good enough" at school!

I really have no idea what to do.

My dd is nearly 6 and is year one. She is in the second group but her 3 friends are in the top group and are clearly upsetting her by telling her that they are better than her

When I had one of them for a play date she announced on the car that she was "much cleverer than my Daughter as she was in the top group and she was much better at reading"

My daughter now doesn't want to go to school as she feels that she will never be clever enough.

It also doesn't help that my ex (I'm divorced from dad) tells her education is everything and that of she doesn't do well at school she will be nothing

I just don't know what to say to make her feel better?!?

Can you think of something that she is better at than them? She's too young to understand that rankings at this age don't really matter...

Shes good at dance and was recently on stage for her show but when I point that out she says Daddy says Dancing is not what I'm going to do when I grow up so it's not important!?!
