My DS is 18 MO and seems to really struggle with teething. It flairs up and down but lately he seems to just be constantly upset with it. I've had him checked for ear infection and that's all fine, so it is just teeth getting to him.

I do all the calpol or ibuprofen, teething granules, cold teething rings, gels etc which help a little bit but only really take the edge off.

He's a terrible sleeper and this is just meaning we are having night upon night of wakings for sometimes hours on end. I am now resorting to popping iplayer on in the middle of the night just to stop him screaming the house down and disturbing the neighbours as well. This works but then he is awake for ages. He just seems to want to BF but I'm sore and don't want to be heading backwards with BFing. I was hoping to gradually reduce this with a view to stopping soon.

He has also started with childminder lately and she has struggled with him too, during the daytime.

Do some kids just suffer like this? How unusual is it? He just wakes up screaming and inconsolable.

DS is the same age or thereabouts and teething like a good 'un. He has the rest of his lower molars coming through (half through atm) and his canines are being bloody halfhearted. Bottom right has created a bloody blister where it keeps almost poking through.

He is drooling a lot, wants to bf A LOT but is making me sore because his mouth is all out of kilter and he's struggling to get comfortable while feeding and he wakes up all the blooming time. He doesn't scream so much as whimper and writhe, demand a bf, whimper more, screw up his face in his sleep, cry out in his sleep etc.

I'm hoping it's peaking as we have rancid acid nappies today which is always a sure sign it's at its worst.

No advice, just sympathy Brew It just goes on and on and on. We get about a weeks' respite now and again, but between teething and colds we hardly ever get a good nights' sleep!

Thanks for sympathy and replying. Just seems to be going on forever. Had a peek this morning and he seems to be getting a whole bunch at once so at least , perhaps, fingers crossed, might get it over with soon!?
