White chunks in 3mo EBF poo

As per the title, the poo otherwise looks fine, although there has been more (as in more frequent) than normal for the last few days.

The chunks look a bit like curds.

Has anyone had this?
Anyone know what it is?

My daughter is 6 weeks and her poo has always had these tiny white lumps Ive looked it up myself and its normal.

If it looks a bit like sesame seeds, then yes, it's entirely normal. Just fat that hasn't been digested by the baby's immature gut. Nothing to worry about at all :)

It's not the normal seedy bits, but cottage cheesy type chunks. The seedy bits are there also.

His most recent movement was quite green also.

Hind/foremilk imbalance?

Ask HV. Green poo is not right but not sure what it means.

Green poo can be a bacterial infection. Ebf ds 3 had very smelly green poo with lots of mucus and it was campylobacter.

Wildwaterfalls · 24/02/2013 22:05

I took DD to the GP because of odd nappies: lots of watery green ones first and then one with white lumps.

GP said green is an infection, and white is the infection coming out. Rotavirus in our case - nothing we could do about it other than keeping fluids up.

Do go and see your GP if you're concerned, especially if it is an ongoing problem.

I took DS to the GP. Confirmed bacterial infection. she was unsure what the lumps might be but advised that she was more concerned with ensuring there was no blood and making sure he was kept hydrated.

Oh good. Hope he feels better soon.

My 5mo had this for a few days. At the time I think she had a bit of an upset tummy, however, I had also been a bit naughty and eaten a pile of sugary/fatty crap so I thought it might be that too.
