I've got a screamer

My 3 year old likes to scream when he doesn't get his own way. I have never heard anything like it, it is utterly horrendous. I seriously cannot believe that a neighbour hasn't called SS yet ,someone must think I am trying to kill him. I am seriously at my wits end. Current method of coping is ignoring, which usually involves me sobbing in another room.

Please help! What do I (apart from gag him)?

Oh and have tried sticker charts for good behaviour, taking things away. Nothing seems to work.

Ah yes, I have one of those. Even when she was a baby, people used to stare at me in the street wondering why I wasn't attending to the clearly-about-to-die child.

Ignore ignore ignore, until they are ready for a cuddle and calm down.

Ah yes. I have bred two of them. The good thing about the older one is that you can reason in some way.

I have very calmly told DS that if he continues to scream, I will continue to ignore him. However, if he asks me very nicely to remove his sister from his toy/have 5 more minutes before bed time/leave the television on for one more episode of Peppa etc then I will consider him seriously.

It is starting to have an effect. He still runs round the house screaming with excitement though when he is having a good time too!

Thanks Savoir. I will try to talk calmly to him rather than leave the room crying! It is the most blood curdling scream, bloody awful!

He has somehow discovered spitting too. That pretty much pushes me over the edge. He seems to take great delight in making me angry/upset.

He is generally a delightful little thing, honest! He just demands 100% attention and is incredibly energetic and physical. He is given lots of attention and we go out for walks/parks/activities every day. Don't know what his problem is!

I have a 2.2 yo screamer and spitter, he also bites and smacks.
Serves me right for being smug with DD and DS1 Grin
Am trying to ignore screaming but playground mums always stick their beaks in and talk to him which makes him worse.
I use the naughty step for hurting and spitting but it is not always successful as he seems to like it there, he does calm down though.

Ahh notso mine was a biter. He's swapped that for scratching. Oh and he's quite partial to a headbutt too. Am actually losing the plot. I feel I have tried so many differeny tactics that nothing seems to bloody work. Slightly worried that I am raising a maniac...

Yes DS2 likes a headbutt, his head is made of granite I think. He fell off a picnic table landing right onto his head, the ground was concrete and didn't batt an eyelid!
He slapped DS1's headmaster on the massive backside this morning was Grin Angry Blush and Shock all at the same time!

Blimey! He sounds like my son! A huge fall onto something hard & he is ok, something tiny & he cries.
