15 month old stopped drinking

hi all
Was wondering if anyone had any advice or similar experiences?

My DD is 15 months. She was poorly last week with D&V but has now recovered and has got her appetite back etc. However, although initially she carried on drinking, for the past few days she has pretty much refused to drink anything (tho she would drink milk from a bottle with no probs I'm sure and is still having her usual bottle morning and bedtime). She is able to drink from a beaker with no probs usually.

Unsurprisingly she is now getting constipated and has been getting upset when she needs to poo.

Anyone experienced anything similar following a tummy bug or have any tips to encourage her to start drinking again? Have tried a range of beakers and open cups and have tried squash/fruit juice instead of just water but no luck.

Thanks!! Smile

we were in the same situation when DS was around 12 months - it followed a cold and was the precursor to some teeth coming in (i suspect his gums were sensitive). he refused to drink water, and became quite constipated. it passed after about a week or so. i watered down his milk a little bit and made sure to give him plenty of fruit and veg.
