Stopping Breast Feeding a toddler

I really, really have had enough now, it's all night and 6 0r 7 times a day. Everytime she falls over she wants it, everytime she gets upset or is told off she wants and doesn't eat much food as a result. It is driving me nuts now.

Distraction, distraction, distraction.

Oh, and giving her some feeds at set times so she knows you aren't holding out on her for falling over, or being upset.

Do you sleep together?

I take my hat off to you - I didn't breastfeed at all, but I think I understand why it's driving you nuts!!!

I would say you have a sleeping problem, rather than a feeding problem. How old is she?

She's just 2 years.

She feeds to go to sleep but doesn't actually nod off with it in her mouth, just likes to be close to it. Then once she feels that we are in bed with her then that's it she's on and off all night. I've tried rolling over, sleeping on my front etc.
Do you think we just have to get her into her own bed once and for all ? This weekend would be a good time to do it i guess.

Yep, I think you need to solve the sleeping first and then work on reducing the feeds to a level you can live with. I remember Womanly art of Breastfeeding and Dr Sears having some good advice about co-sleeping and stopping night feeds. Been a while since I read them though.

I had the same with my son. I kept putting off weaning him until one day I just felt I wanted my BODY BACK!!!!!! I bit the bullet, wore a normal bra so no sneaky unclipping and lots of tucked in t-shirts. I was dreading it. After about two days he'd forgotten all about it. I was quite hurt! Beware tho..DS was 18 months when I stopped and soon after I was pg again. So I had my body to myself for about ten minutes. bah.

This is a toughy - I am about to stop with no. 4 and not relishing it. With the others when I had completely had it (like Baggie-bettie) I got the resolve to keep them firmly inside my top. Also only took a couple of days - they all seemed to sense i meant business .

AngelaD does dd take any other milk?
