4 month old suddenly sleeping a lot

My 4month old has had a weird week, seemed really tired on Monday so took her to the dr as it was so out of character but couldn't find anything wrong, and she has been grumpy and miserable since then- lots of wingeing, not settled, a massive crying spree one night and generally out of sorts. And today she has just crashed out! Possibly teething as she is dribbly too and flushed, and had a couple of runny nappies which I know is a symptom. She has just started rolling over too which seems to upset her more than anything! Is this normal? Just a growth spurt? Should I be worried? Confused

How sleepy/rousable is she?

Biblio · 15/02/2013 17:46

Easy enough to wake up, although very cross when she is woken. Really sleepy on Monday, hence the doctor, but now more grumpy in a "I'm tired and want to go to bed" constant winge...

Aw poor little thing. She must be feeling rotten.

Keep a close eye though and if she isn't waking up fully when you try to rouse her take her to A&E.

Thank you goldmandra. I gave her some teething powders and they seem to calm her down on the grumpy/crying side. I think she is going through so many changes I can't keep up but if she gets worse will def take her to see someone Sad

I found my dd now 5 months had a week around 4 months when all she did was sleep and eat. Didn't seem to be anything wrong but would get upset very easily, feed then fall asleep. I think one day I was really concerned because she had basically slept 20 hours out of 24!
She went into a sleep regression the following week only just going back to normal now!

So sleep regression is the next step?! Eeeek!
It has coincided with her being able to roll over and I think she finds that exhausting. She is still feeding well (does seem pretty hungry), so I hope it is just her adjusting to change rather than being ill.
