Dd is dc3 and is the hardest toddler I have had. Maybe she doesn't want to be a toddler and be older like her brothers but she is like a 2 year old without words. She screams when she wants something or doesn't want to do something / dressing her is actually a matter of strength and endurance - ditto for nappy changes. She often constantly shout at me and it is wearing me down. I get so angry with her and this make me shout at her. DH is ?? when I shout at her and say she is just a baby but I feel she isn't and we are entering little girl territory where distraction is wearing off but am at a loss at would to do and DH panders to her!

No she isn't a baby but she's too young to be shouted at...shouting is not good for older children either. Has she got any words at all yet? She sounds frustrated....what is her routine? Do you take her out once a day to walk or visit a playgroup sometimes?

She goes to playgroup everyday she is with me, nursery twice a week. We do 3 school runs a day. She has no reason to be bored. I think I am just not good with toddlers. It is my least favourite stage.

My Ds is 16 months and is very difficult at the moment so you have my sympathies. He kicks and hits when he doesn't get his own way. Yesterday was particularly bad, he was in pain from teething and our house looked like a scene from supernanny (before she steps in obvs!). He even slammed the kitchen door in my face Shock he started his tantrums at 12 months but they are much worse now that he's in pain with his teeth. I never thought a child would be this stroppy so young, Im 17 weeks with #2, what have I done?!

Notnow2 I have found your post in desperation. I am also really struggling with a strong minded 16 month old. You perfectly described my life. Does it get any better?

Well this makes me feel soooo much better knowing its not just me and my feral 16 month old Grin
