2nd birthday party games/tips/ideas?

Hi all,

I'm about to have a load of two year olds and their parents descend on me for DD's birthday. Apart from pass the parcel, musical bumps and a bit of a sing-song (hokey cokey, sleeping bunnies etc) anything else you've done with your very little DCs game-wise that's kept their attention?

Any wise MNers want to share their toddler party wisdom to keep things running smoothly? Apart from an all-out sugar ban, given the chance. Should I be planning a vague structure to keep all hell from running loose? Hmm

Thanks!! x

Split into teams. One team - one adult helper + a roll of kitchen roll.
They have to make a 'costume' out of kitchen roll. Effectively this means mummifiying one child.
Proclaim a winner.
Give them all a Smartie for taking part.
Get them to release the prisoner mummy.
At this point the room will be littered in kitchen roll. Now get one or two adults to hold a bin bag open. Tell the kids that the best Tidy Upper will get another Smartie.

Now get the adults to start comedy running while all the kids start throwing kitchen roll at them. If they actually clear the room before the next game is ready, the adults can 'trip up' and drop the bin bag, thus spilling kitchen roll everywhere. And so it starts again...

Decorating party bags with stickers also takes 2 10 minutes. Treasure hunt where they find coins or something to go into the party bags can also take some time.

Anything where the kids can get one over the adults is fun, so What's the Time Mr Wolf Theme of Party; and blow up balloons before the party so that when they arrive they can let off steam kicking them about.
