What can i try next?

I gave birth to dd2 6 weeks ago, dd1 was fine for the first 2 weeks but since has got realy naughty, i try to involve her with the baby, she loves helping me with the baby but as soon as 'm not giving her any attention she screams. If i shout at her she screams again, she finds it funny in time out, i have tried not taking any notice of the screaming but then it wakes dd1 up and makes her cry.
What can i try next? I cant put up with the screaming, its hurting my ears!

This is soooo difficult, and they all react differently. When dd was born, I made sure I had 1 on 1 time with ds, even if it meant that housework wasn't done. It seemed to work for us.

How about a spexial box of toys that only come out when you are feeding or doing something that she cant help with. Also story tapes are useful.
I would try very hard to ignore the screaming and give masses of totally over the top praise for any good behaviour she displays. Is there any toy/DVD/ book that she would really like how about a reward chart keeping it very simple . I always use a photo of the child and then draw a windy path on a piece of paper with steps on and a picture of what they want at the end , good behavior allows a sticker to be placed on and repeated good behaviur moves along the path , Bluetack means she can move herself. Screaming would mean moving back down the path after giving one warning. You need to look for the good and try to ignore the not so!
Try to be consistent with what ever method that you choose.
