Anyone know how to calm a 4 year old down....

He is driving me mental! He constantly screams and shouts, runs about the place and generally causing me a major headache every time he is home from nursery! He becomes really clumsy and accidentally hurts his sisters (2 and 6 months). I make him calm down on the step outside but this is happening every day and he is also constantly ignoring us. We've started a reward chart so he'll start listening to us but feel I have to shout at him all the time!! Help!

He's looking for attention. Bad is as good as good.

Do you spend any time with him one on one without his sisters around?

Yes on thurs and fris! Swimming and just generally hanging out while sisters in nursery. Dh and I take it turn about to put him to bed (stories, songs, general chat).

Yep, he needs your undivided attention. Can you give him any? Do the girls go for a nap in the afternoon?

Or can you go home from nursery via a playpark? Or walk a safe route that you can encourage him to run and yell in as much as he likes outdoors? (We have woods and fields next to our house, very handy for when my 4yr old DS is driving me up the wall!)

He needs your undivided attention every day, even if for only 30 minutes.

I would stop off somewhere on the way from nursery and wear him out!
