My LO is almost 3 weeks old, no routine yet obviously but has dummy at night. Thing is she doesn't really settle till about 3am each night & goes crazy for dummy, falls asleep for 10/20 mins or so, it falls out then whole thing starts again!! I've tried settling her without but she goes mad! Any suggestions?!

I'd check if she wants more milk and make sure she's winded completely. Let her feed to sleep or settle to sleep on you then pop her in her cot.

My dc have/had dummies, but at this age it's too much of a faff ime.

It pops out before they're in deep sleep and it wakes them by doing so. Dummies come out of all dc mouths when they're asleep.

So I'd drop the dummy too. It's not doing what you want it to do.

She's still a tiny baby and she needs cuddles. She needs you to be settling and comforting her when she cries. Not a dummy.

Congratulations on your newbie
