DD wanting me to do everything

2yr DD is going through a big phase of wanting me to do everything for her & not being willing to allow DH a look in.

Things seem to have worsened this week, she had a cold which meant 2 days off nursery & the last 4 days with mr, DH's work means he often either misses bedtime or gets in in time for stories, but at w/e's he has always been v hands on, and prior to me changing jobs would do the nursery pick-ups & is aiming to continue to do one a week now.

It's hit a new low this lunchtime with an argument about letting him help her clean hands/face after lunch - I was trying to stay out of it, but could hear DH sounding more upset & firm (we're trying to be consistent like nursery & ask 3 times then time out) but she was crying out for me/wanting me to do it. DH did time out by coming out of the bathroom himself, I suggested he try & tell her the nice things we'd do afterwards, but it didn't help, I stepped in & DH had got so wound up he walked out for a steam letting off walk muttering he must be a terrible father Sad

Any advise from those rough the other side?

Obv meant "through" not "rough"!

I would go out and leave him to it-even if you just walk around the block.

I would suggest to him that he uses distraction and humour, but then stay firmly out of the way.
