Nearly 13 month old bleeding gums where top teeth are coming through- normal?

My DS will be 13 months next week and hasn't had any teeth come through yet.

This morning I noticed on his top gum there are two bloody scab type lines where the teeth will come through. I can see the teeth and it looks like they wil pop through tomorrow or the next day. The one on the right is also black, like bruised and bloody. They weren't there last night.

Is this normal? Do gums sometimes bleed like this when teeth come through?

Normal IME.

My dc both left blood dribble stains on their sheets when teething. As long as you know there's been no injury to the mouth/ face then I wouldn't worry. :)

Thanks. My Dd's teeth came through at 15 months and she never had bleeds like this. It's good to know someone else has experienced this.
