5yo dd won't go to sleep

5yo dd has never been much of a sleeper. I usually get her in to bed by 8pm at the latest, but she's constantly getting out of bed and trying to sleep in my bed, complaining about noises, saying she's scared, or saying she's ill. If I'm lucky, she'll be asleep by 9.45. I return her to bed every time, but still she keeps getting up. Have tried story tapes, reassurance, checking wardrobe for monsters etc but nothing seems to make any difference. It's driving me round the bend - I have masses of work to do and I never get any evening time! Any ideas appreciated...

Would a reward chart work? Also make sure she is going to bed at the same time each night.

Have tried both of those I'm afraid!
