This has been ongoing for quite a while but generally he just moans about going but will go which is probably normal. He hasn't been too bad since starting junior school but is getting worse now and I'm hoping someone can come up with some ideas. He moans all morning, gives me a whipped puppy look as he goes in. The last few days he's started to come over to me instead of going in the door and I've had to take him to the door.
It was the same last year in Infant school. His teacher was very concerned as he seemed unhappy at school and spoke to me on a few occasions. We tried rewards charts etc. He did eventually stop moaning about going and just got on with it.
I've spoken to his current teacher and she's says he's fine at school. I've asked him why he doesn't like going but he can't think of any reason why other than Maths isn't hard enough. (He's very good at it) I honestly don't think there's a reason for it. I think he just would rather stay at home and go on his computer.
So, any suggestions? Rewarding him doesn't work as he doesn't want to go anywhere, do anything. Moans when we do. I'm wondering if I should get a bit firmer with him as I can be quite soft.
