Black and white

My son knows all of his colours. Except he mixes up black and white all the time.

Anyone know if that means anything?

He's 3.7 years.

Maybe he's learned 'black and white' (zebra, cow, football) rather than the two colours separately and that's why he's getting them confused. Just a thought...

That could be, I suppose.

My dd is 4.2 and she always mixes up black and white though she does get most of the others and doesn't mix them in the way she does with b and w. I have stopped telling her otherwise as it was driving me nuts! I keep meaning to Google it as I thought maybe it was quite common.

I can't find anything about it on Google, which is weird.

I know, it is isn't it- google has something to say about everything I thought Grin I had a look after I posted and nothing - most odd. I then asked DD what colour her white PJ's were to which she responded, 'they are black silly Mummy'!

DS used to get two colours mixed up - I don't think it was black and white but I can't remember which pair it was. He's 4 now and identifies them correctly so I don't think he's colour blind or anything.

My husband had a look as well, yawning and he's my google expert and can find nothing.

Son is about to be assessed for some things at school so I will ask then if they think it's an issue.
