Newborn acne

My ds is 3weeks today. He has red spots on his face which I am waiting to see if they disappear as I think they may be from hormones at birth.

Saw the doc today who said if they don't clear up she'll prescribe antibiotics. I'm keen to avoid that. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of newborn acne?

Yes. DS1 had it. Went by itself after a few weeks. DS2 is 7 weeks and has it too, I'm leaving it alone.

Hi DD had it when she was born and it cleared up by itself after about 7/8 weeks.

Ooh thanks, I was thinking of waiting till 6 wks to see if it cleared up. I'll wait a bit longer than that now, thanks for your quick replies
